Projects 2001 – 2005

1. Feasibility Study on the Economic, Engineering           and Environmental Impacts of the Laem Chabang – Sa Kaew- Mukdahan Highway Project (2001)

The Department of Highways appointed AMP Consultants Ltd. and Team Consultants Ltd., Thailand in 1997 to assess the feasibility of, and subsequent design of, the proposed highway from Laem Chabang to Mukdahan.

2. Transport Data and Model Center Project (2001)                                                                                                                                                                                             

AMP Consultants Ltd with JMP Consultants Ltd and ESRI were commissioned by the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), of the Royal Thai Government, under the TDMC project, to develop and maintain a suite of Transport Databases in Thailand, i.e. National, Regional and Bangkok Metropolitan Region (BMR).

3. Transport Data and Model Center Project (2001)                                                                                                                                                                                          

AMP Consultants Ltd and ESRI were appointed by the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), of the Royal Thai Government, to develop and maintain a suite of Transport Models for suitable application in Thailand.

4. Public Bangkok Railroad Improvement Project (2001)                                 

AMP Consultants Ltd. contributed significantly to the overall transport concept and demand forecasting. These tasks included the review, definition and assessment of transport concept options in order to identify the most feasible projects to be taken forward, by using a ranking system.

5. MIS in Cost Structure Study of Land Freight Transport (CSS) (2001)         

AMP Consultants, Ltd with JMP Consultants Ltd and Hughes Economic Planning, were commissioned by the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) to carry out a Cost Structure Study of Land Freight Transport in Thailand.

6. Legal Study in Cost Structure Study of Land Freight Transport (CSS) (2001)

AMP Consultants Ltd with JMP Consultants Ltd and Hughes Economic Planning were commissioned by the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) to carry out a Cost Structure Study of Land Freight Transport in Thailand

7. Cost Structure Study of Land Freight Transport (2001)                                

This project was commissioned by NESDB with the assistance from The World Bank. JMP Consultants together with AMP Consultants Ltd and Hughes Economic Planning were appointed to undertake out a Cost Structure Study of Land Freight Transport.

8. Traffic Impact Assessment in Central Plaza Rama II (2001)             

JMP (Thailand) Ltd was commissioned by the Central Pattana Public Company Limited, one of the largest Shopping Centre companies in Thailand, undertake a traffic impact assessment for a new development business area on Rama 2 road.

9. Financial Management Course, Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University (2001)

AMP Consultants Ltd was invited, as an expert in Financial Analysis, by Chulalongkorn University to lecture on Financial Management for the Master of Arts in Business and Managerial Economics course, at the Faculty of Economics.

10. Training on Mega-Project Assessment (2001)                                                                                                                                                                                                 

AMP Consultants Ltd was invited, as the expert in Transport Planning, by Chiang Mai University to lecture on Mega-Project Assessment for under-graduate students at the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering.

11. Study and Analysis for Railway Bridges Capacity Improvement Planning for Thailand’s Southern Route for the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) (2002)

AMP Consultants Ltd was responsible for the economic analysis of rail investment to determine its competitive status against other modes. In addition, urban development and international strategy are considered.

12. Rama III Special Land Development (2002)                                                                                                                                                                                                     

One of the key tasks of this project was to study Rama III Special Land Development as a pilot project. AMP Consultants Ltd produced traffic and transport guidelines for the Rama III area development including analysis of modes of passenger and freight transport, and urban development.

13. Transfer Ticketing Technology on Public Transport in BMR (2002)         

The Department of Land Transport commissioned AMP Group to advise on Transfer Ticketing Technology on rail, bus and ferry public transport and to develop an investment schedule.

14. The Seminar on Co-ordination to Establish a Transport Database in Vietnam (2002)

The Transport Development and Strategy Institute (TDSI) of Vietnam invited AMP Consultants Ltd to participate in a Seminar on Co-ordination to Establish a Transport Database in Vietnam and to present their experience on the Database Structure in Thailand.

15. Urban Transport Planning Course (2002)                                                      

AMP Consultants Ltd. were invited, as an expert in Urban Transport Planning, by King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, to provide training for under-graduate, Masters and Doctoral students in Urban Transport Planning, for the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning.

16. Industrial Estate Refurbishment Study – Landscape and Visual Appreciation (2002)

Landscape planning and improvement of the transport system are important components of land development and the refurbishment of industrial estates. This study focused on the effects of transport and urban planning in three study areas, Lad Krabang, Map-Tha-Put and Bang-Pu.

17. Cost Structure Study of Land, Water, and Rail Passenger Transport (2002)

AMP Consultants Ltd were engaged by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, to study the real cost structure of public transport on Land, Water, and Rail.

18. Mass Transit Extension (2002)                                                                         

AMP Consultants Ltd. were commissioned to provide transport planning advice in support of the project, including long term passenger forecasting, revenue forecasting and analysis on the Return on Investment (ROI).

19. Reorganisation Structure for the Profit Centre Management (2002)      

AMP Consultants Ltd was engaged by Transport Company Ltd to investigate and forecast travel demand on routes between Bangkok and other provinces in Thailand. The information from the analysis was to be the basis for reorganization of Transport Company Ltd. and a proposed the Profit Centre structure.

20. Master Plan of Urban Planning for Bangkok Metropolitan Area Phase 2 (2003)

AMP Consultants Ltd. was the transport planner and assisted Krungthep Thanakom Ltd., on the second revision of the Bangkok Land-use Master Plan.
An updated Master Plan was needed to be used as a framework to develop the city of Bangkok.

21. GIS-Digital Map and Map Content Services (2003)                                      

AMR Asia Co., Ltd. and AMP Consultants Ltd. were appointed to develop a digital vector map of Bangkok and Thailand using a GIS Application Software. The following attribute data were added to the digital vector map:

22. Parking Management in Central City Bangna (2003)                                   

AMP Consultants Ltd. were commissioned by Central Pattana Public Company Limited, one of the largest Retail companies in Thailand, to investigate parking in Central City, Bangna, in order to improve parking management.

23. Transport Data and Model Centre II (2004)                                                   

AMP Consultants Ltd and ESRI Ltd. were appointed by the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) to develop and maintain the Transport Database and Models Centre Project (Phase II).

24. Traffic Management in Central World Plaza and Tower (2004)                

AMP Consultants Ltd. was commissioned by the Central Pattana Public Company Limited, one of the largest retail companies in Thailand, to study the traffic management at Central World Plaza and Tower and its surrounds.

25. Business Feasibility Study of Automotive Sub-Assembly Warehouse (2004)

AMP Group was commissioned to conduct a business and financial feasibility study of APLL’s new sub-assembly warehouse.

26. Conference of Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS) (2005)

The International Scientific Committee (ISC), Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EAST), invited AMP Consultants Ltd. to be a conference invigilator, supporting discussions and paper selection relating to transportation issues for a conference in Hanoi, Vietnam.

27. Tracking System for Patrol Operation of Nonthaburi Police (2005)        

AMP Consultants Ltd. and Infinite Co., Ltd. were commissioned by the Nonthaburi Provincial Police to develop a Tracking System to monitor and analyse vehicle behaviour by GPS (Global Positioning Satellites) system for identifying vehicle’s location and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) for communication with control centre.

28. Transport Data and Model Centre III (2005)                                                 

AMP Consultants Ltd and CIM Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd were commissioned by the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) of the Royal Thai Government to advise OTP on the improvement and maintenance of their database system information system and traffic and transport models to increase reliability and suitability for application to Thailand.

29. The Feasibility Study of Bangkok – Nakorn Ratchasima High Speed Rail Project (2005)

AMP Group, together with Southeast Asia Technology Ltd, Epsilon Ltd. and Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick (Thailand) Ltd., was appointed to carry out the Feasibility Study for the Bangkok – Nakon Ratchasima High Speed Rail Project.
